Its goal is to provideNBFAs rising 1stthrough rising 6thgraders targeted differentiated instructionaround key literacy and mathematical skills aligned with priority common core state standards in order to recover learning loss experienced as a result of the academic disruption imposed by COVID-19.The NBFA Summer Academy Math Coach must be committed to and advocate for NBFAs mission to provide students a meaningful, high quality education through experience-based learning that helps develop essential social, emotional and critical-thinking skills. The Summer Academy Math Coach is responsible for working with classroom teachers in assisting with the full implementation and monitoring of NBFAs adopted math program in response to intervention needed for student achievement. The Math Coach must build and maintain open lines of communication with teachers to aid them in gaining content mastery. The Math Coach must comply with state and federal education laws and regulations at all times.

The Summer Academy Math Coach may be invited to join NBFAs full-time staff for the 2021-22 academic year.Principal AccountabilitiesPLANNING (begins May 2021)Attend 1 program orientation session and 1-2 professional development sessions during the week of June 28, 2021MANAGEMENTResearch and provide staff support to improve teaching and learning including teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation, and use of assessment results, etc. Provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full implementation of NBFAs adopted math program Conduct demonstration lessons to ensure that all teachers have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using the instructional materials as designed Assist teachers in creating an interactive classroom and ensure that recommendations for improvement are implemented Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students Ensure that student growth is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification Assist teacher in preparation pacing for instruction Participate in collaborative meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement Prepare forms, records and reports as directed Attends meetings and trainings as directed COMMUNICATIONCollaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment school-wide Maintain open lines of communication with teachers to aid them in gaining content masteryMaintain open lines of communication with the Summer Academy Coordinator and leadersSalaryPer NBFAs Collective Bargaining Agreement
