Major and Career Exploration Center (MACE)

Job Summary

The Student Assistant helps students complete self, major, and career exploration activities in the Major and Career Exploration Center (MACE) beginning in the Summer of 2021.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

  • Greets students, staff, and faculty in a warm and welcoming manner

  • Answers phone calls

  • Prepares documents and materials for use in the MACE

  • Helps students complete exploration activities in the Major and Career Exploration Center

  • Assists students with the check-in process for advisement and checking in to the Major and Career Exploration Center

  • Provides any follow-up with students as necessary.

  • Assists the front office staff in the Office of Advising by greeting students, staff, and faculty and/or answering phones

Shift Specifics:

  • 8-15 hours per week

  • Flexible with schedule of availability between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

  • This is a summer student worker position with the possibility of continuing into the fall semester.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience with leadership or mentorship programs

Proposed Salary

$8.50 per hour
