About the role:

The primary responsibility of this position will be to support all Silicone processes, including plastics areas as needed, while maintaining a safe environment for all employees.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily responsibilities include assuring machines are running quality parts within validated parameters, tooling changeovers, material changes, preventative maintenance and the monitoring and maintaining of tooling quality.

  • Additional duties will include prepare and mix materials, maintain cleanliness of equipment and support new component development.
  • The technician will be expected to achieve a detailed understanding of each production process, process troubleshooting, equipment operation, and in-process quality inspection.

  • This person will encounter working with hot tooling, precise adjustment of process parameters, lifting of molds, installation of mold inserts, and lifting 55 lb. bags of resin.
  • Train technicians on the proper use and set-up of process monitoring systems.
  • Train and oversee technicians and/or product builders while conducting engineering sampling and tests.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of inspection/measurement equipment to perform testing and dimensional studies in support of engineering studies/validations.
  • Performs hands-on processing and tooling troubleshooting with thermoplastic and silicone (LIM) injection molding including process optimization using scientific analysis and engineering studies
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety standards and regulatory/quality standards.
  • Follow GMPs, proper record-keeping procedures, and appropriate communication skills to maintain total compliance.
  • Serve as a core team member or extended team member on production or engineering projects as required.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of injection molding machines and ancillary equipment including robots/sprue pickers, dryers, thermolators, color feeders, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of injection mold design and construction.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, and skilled in the use of hand tools and measurement equipment.
  • Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be experienced in MS Office software.
  • Must be technically oriented.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on coordination.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to follow directions are also necessary.
  • Must be able to work with hot tooling, lift molds, install mold inserts, and lift 55 lb. bags of resin.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 years of hands-on injection molding processing experience in medical device manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with silicone (LIM) injection molding.
  • A technical knowledge of Silicone and plastics processing and experience in this area is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
