Job Description




PRINCIPLE PURPOSES: 



  • Develop and deliver the annual sales plan.


  • Management of assigned Manufacturer’s Representatives.


  • Increase profitability of sales volumes


  • Develop new prospects within target markets and convert them to commercial sales.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Identify new prospects for corona and plasma surface treatment product lines with the top 25 flexible packaging and textile converters and direct-sell the top three film extrusion OEMs, providing them innovative and proprietary automation solutions to reduce cost-per-package. Provide technical and economic value propositions to convert prospects to customers.  Support new product introductions through trade shows, webinars, seminars, direct calls, etc.


  • Maintain and maximize sales with existing customers, and within new markets with existing products.


  • Develop sales forecasts to support sales staffing, territory management, efficient production planning and raw material procurement. 


  • Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction; coordinate/provide technical sales support as required to improve customer retention.


  • Communicate market information to management, allowing the organization to react in a timely manner to take advantage of changing market conditions.


  • Aggressively manage Manufacturer’s Representatives in their assigned regional territories. Conduct annual Sales Assessments of Representatives using the Sales Assessment Development Tool.


  • Manage T&E budget.  Timely submission of formal Sales Call Reports.  Maintain and oversee project pipeline of all sales projects.


  • Co-develop integrated and technically supported account strategies with the Business Unit Manager.


  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures with visiting customers, including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards.  Works to advance and promote the safety culture of the work site.





Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.  3-5 years of successful sales experience selling capital equipment, preferably directly related to the flexible packaging industry and more preferably in the surface modification/treatment industry.  Experience managing Manufacturer’s Representatives a plus. Ability to communicate effectively; both written and orally. 


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:


Work involves typical office routines and business travel as required; approximately 25-40%.  Will travel to customer and Representative  locations, trade shows and related customer driven/ business activities.  Occasionally expected to tour plant facilities and observe production runs.
