Summary:


Directs and provides professional nursing care while meeting patients' psychosocial, physical and general aspect of care needs. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines, families and/or caregivers. Responsible for initial assessment, reassessment and documentation of assigned patients. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients. Communicates with practitioners regarding changes in patient's status, symptoms and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Assumes responsibility for supervising and assessing other nursing personnel. Responsible for safety and flow of the department assuring that staff comply with policies, procedures and JCAHO regulations. Communicates with all disciplines regarding patient status, flow, and continuation of patient care.

  • Provides safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand off communication and when reporting patient care information and appropriately asks for assistance from other staff. (Patient Safety)

Credentials: Maine Registered Nurse License or eligible to obtain.


Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
