Summary:

Reports to the Director of Environmental Services designs and maintains information reports for laundry and housekeeping. Responsible for organizing and controlling the inventory levels. Prepares and maintains reports and analysis of budget activity. Monitors purchase orders expenditures and other documentation relating to same. Monitors analyzes and prepares related summaries and reports.


Responsibilities:

Maintains department record keeping ie employee files RMW/HAZMAT manifesting.



Assists with ordering of supplies for department.



Performs data entry/ analysis.



Performs QA inspections for department.



Provides training/orientation/competency assessment for department employees.



Assists with payroll and scheduling of employees.



Updates/creates/edits policy and procedures for the department.



Coordinates repairs/maintenance of equipment with approved vendor.



Attends meetings as required.



Conducts monthly line by line review of department accounts payable ledger including supporting documents on expenditures and projects to ensure all changes have been processed correctly. Work with accounting to identify discrepancies and reconcile department and hospital ledger.



Assists internal and external auditors by providing required information.



Researches budget variances and prepares reports to Director.



Responsible for the day to day management of the quality assurance program.



Performs other duties as assigned.


Other information:
EDUCATION:

Equivalent to Associates Degree in Business Administration or Environmental Sciences.



Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with a wide variety of hospital personnel and persons from outside the hospital.



Ability to operate a personal computer to enter data and prepare reports. Knowledge of hospital database system as it pertains to department activity.


EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of formal experience in Environmental Services preferably in a healthcare setting.



Strong foundation in computer use ie Microsoft Office including Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normal office environment periodic work in linen storage/distribution and filling in for EVS shift supervisor as needed.



Visual acuity to work with computer reports and computer terminal.


INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs independently within the departments policies and procedures. Refers specific complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of the departmental policies and procedures is required.
