Qualifications


Minimum


A baccalaureate degree in business administration, accounting, economics, mathematics or finance plus two years of professional level experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, purchasing, planning, research and/or analysis, or financial services.


Substitutions


Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree only.


A master'sdegree inaqualifying fieldmaybesubstitutedfortherequiredexperience.


NOTE: Qualifyingmaster'sdegree include, accounting,businessadministration, finance,management, economics,quantitative businessanalysis,publicadministration,informationsystemsanddecision sciences ormanagementinformationsystems.


Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to qualify as follows:


A maximum of 90 semester hours can be combined with experience to qualify.


15 to 29 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience.


30 to44 semester hourscreditwill substitutefortwo yearsofexperience.


45 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience.


60 to 74 semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience.


75 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for five years of experience.


90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for six years of experience.

Additional Information


Preference may be given to applicants with experience with the state's finance accounting system AFS-ISIS. Preference may be given to applicants that have a detailed understanding of project management, financial reporting, accounting procedures, and have previous work experience with the Stafford Act Grant Programs, specifically to Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.


Applicant must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and will be required to maintain a high degree of professionalism. Applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; effective oral/written communication skills; and effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and beyond, day or night, for extended periods during emergencies. Must present and maintain a valid Louisiana driver's license. Must be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) or higher, through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
