We are seeking a Material Handler


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:


Performs a variety of duties in support of the companys fabrication, weld, and assembly cells. Duties include but not limited to stocking FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on level loaded production schedule, restock fabricated and purchased parts in finished part supermarket, maintain finished part supermarkets, coordinate replenishment and communicate potential shortages with Buyer/Planner, perform daily 5S maintenance, other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Performs tasks to JIs as trained



  • Maintaining safe working conditions and 6-S

  • Compliance with regulations, procedures, policies

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Participation in company training programs

  • Work effectively in a team environment

  • Reporting packaging problems, piece part abnormalities / nonconformance, and unusual workplace events to BU lead person or supervisor

  • Use a variety of unpowered material handling equipment

  • Perform other duties as assigned


WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:


REQUIREMENTS:


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Vision; near, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception

  • Able to stand and walk

  • Able to reach above shoulders and outward

  • Able to bend, squat and crawl

  • Able to lift and carry. (up to 50 pounds)

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment: eyewear, hearing protection, respirator and steeled toes boots with metatarsals


WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Temperatures; Low 40 60; high temperature over 90

  • Noise level > 85 db


Material Handler II



  • All of the above requirements plus the following

  • Has acquired DD certification to operate powered mobile equipment and overhead cane

  • Has the ability to perform tasks in other BUs


Material Handler III



  • All of the requirements for Assembler II plus the following

  • Has the ability to perform tasks in multiple BUs within the facility

  • Capable of training others

  • Knowledge of basic lean concepts (DDMS)

  • Minimum one year within the organization
