We are looking for a Marketing Specialist – Brand Programs, based at our St. Louis Corporate Office, reporting into the Marketing Manager – Field Support. The successful candidate will be an analytical self-starter, responsible for managing and balancing all aspects of Save A Lot’s seasonal, promotional and evergreen brand programs. The role will serve as project manager for all existing brand programs and work cross-functionally to develop omni-channel marketing plans to support the brand initiatives.


  • Development and maintenance of annual planning and program calendar, collaborating with all areas of Marketing including PR, Planning, Field Marketing and Media/Digital

  • Act as a project manager for all existing brand programs (including but not limited to Switch & Save; 100% Money Back Guarantee; Gift Card Sales; Bags for a Brighter Holiday; etc.), working cross-functionally with all areas of the business

  • Develop detailed timeline and action plan for each brand program

  • Develop and lead new brand programs to increase awareness, community presence, sales and traffic in stores

  • Collaborate with Field Marketing to discover programs within our Retail Partner network, that can be scaled across the enterprise

  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Marketing teams to plan Private Label brand promotions and item launches across all marketing channels

  • Develop communications to stores, field teams and Retail Partners to successfully implement and close out all brand programs

  • Provide updates to Marketing team while each brand program is live in market

  • Collaborate with financial analysts to determine impact and effectiveness of brand programs

  • Coordinate with marketing team members and external vendors and agencies to implement programs

  • Collaborate with vendors to develop new tactics and cost-effective solutions to promote programs

  • Discover key learnings from each brand program to improve year-over-year performance and promotion

Minimum Requirements

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-3 years of relevant market research experience, preferably with a multi-unit restaurant, retailer or consumer brand.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and data analytics.

  • Experience with use of internal sales databases or syndicated data sources such as A.C. Nielsen preferred

  • Must possess intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask

  • Works well under pressure, balancing multiple workstreams and priorities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to follow directions and learn quickly

  • Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative, innovative solutions to business challenges

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment

  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal

  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday

  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
