As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

This position is part of the Stress Testing team within Market & Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM). The stress testing team leads the regulatory & BAU stress testing initiatives, and works across lines of businesses to develop leading risk management & risk measurement practices. The team leads CCAR initiatives, risk identification, scenario design, execution, and strategic infrastructure development.

This position is focused primarily on the development of counterparty stress testing platform for CCAR and internal BAU scenarios. The ideal candidate needs to have experience with market and counterparty risk systems, proven ability to work across business specialists and technology, working knowledge of traded products, and strong technology skills. Knowledge of regulatory stress testing, and previous programming and system architecture development experience will be beneficial for this hiring role.

Responsibilities for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Enhance the counterparty stress testing infrastructure, i.e. scenario implementation tools, reporting tools, scenario analysis, analytic tools, and validation tools.

  • Lead the development effort to build system to execute scenarios across pricing platforms. Work closely with scenario design team in defining the granularity and dimensionality of trading shocks across regulatory and BAU scenarios. Design scenario translation layers, and work closely with risk and front office technology in providing standardized implementation solutions.

  • Develop and manage relationships with multiple business partners across lines of business, risk oversight officers, internal audit, technology, and risk analytics groups.

  • Understand relevant business, regulatory, and risk requirements pertaining to market and counterparty credit risk stress testing and participate in ongoing audit, and regulatory exams.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: market risk, capital markets, trading, or interest rate risk

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in market risk/ counterparty risk management

  • Strong grasp of trading products across multiple asset classes as well as market and counterparty risk management concepts

  • Knowledge and understanding of CCAR/DFAST stress testing and FR Y-14Q requirements

  • Experience gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets

  • Strong knowledge of systems, grasp over SQL and working knowledge of programming languages

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of VBA, SQL, and other scripting language

  • Able to identify issues and deliver solutions in close partnership with risk managers, quantitative teams, and technology

  • Experience working with regulators and internal audit teams

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, mathematics, engineering, or computer science

  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
