Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Responsibilities:

  • The provision of hands-on personal care.

  • The performance of simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services.

  • Assistance in ambulation or exercises according to the plan of care.

  • Assistance in administering medications ordinarily self-administered.

  • Recording pertinent information pertaining to the client's care and strict adherence to the HHA care plan that is on the client's chart.

  • Providing hands-on personal care including: Baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, assisting with/changing bed linens, assisting patients with dressing/undressing, skin care to prevent breakdown, assisting patients with toileting activities, keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriate.

  • Planning and preparing light meals/snacks according to specific dietary requirements of the client, and if necessary, feeding the client.

  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).

Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain in good standing a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and state required licensure.

  • One-year prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

  • Possess and maintain CPR certification.

  • High standard of professionalism, confidentiality, ethics, and compliance.

  • Ability to document within an electronic medical record.
