Overview


In DWS has an immediate opening for a US Head of Tax. You will need to have extensive relevant experience in the field of US federal and state taxation - including oversight of the tax reporting, tax compliance, tax advisory, and tax controversy functions. The Head of Tax position will report directly to the Global Head of Tax in Frankfurt and will be responsible for managing two full time employees and an external service provider.

Your Key Responsibilities:




  • Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes and tax return preparation and filing




  • Evaluate the impact of new legislation and tax pronouncements and implement requirements appropriately




  • Lead and manage responses to all IRS, state, local tax notices, and audits




  • Lead and oversee preparation of the tax provision documentation for year-end financial statement disclosure, as well as, for quarterly financial statements




  • Lead and oversee preparation and filing of tax returns for federal, state, and local jurisdictions



  • Lead and manage tax planning for the company as well as tax research and advisory support for internal business partners


Your Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree in Tax and/or Accounting is required




  • Extensive progressive experience. Large public accounting firm and corporate tax department experience is preferred




  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills are required




  • Master of Taxation or Business Administration, CPA or LLM is preferred



  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence


How You'll Lead:




  • Collaborate with Finance Division to oversee and execute tax efficient transfer pricing and inter-company agreement structure




  • Work closely with staff, and assist in mentoring, coaching, training and evaluating staff



  • Responsible for special projects as assigned by Global Head of Tax
