Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Our Sling & DISH International Business Unit is seeking a passionate, energetic and flexible Head of Marketing. The International Business is responsible for the strategy, content acquisition, business development and marketing across both DISH and Sling platforms. For more than 20 years, DISH and Sling have been the pioneer in international content for U.S. ethnic markets including Hindi, Arabic, Punjabi, Urdu, Brazilian, Polish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and many others. We stay ahead of our competitors by continuously innovating our product to bring in the best International content into the U.S.



The Head of Marketing - International will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy, plan and in-market launch of marketing initiatives across six key language groups. The candidate will directly manage teams focused on brand, digital, lifecycle, and grassroots marketing initiatives to create impactful, ROMI – positive marketing campaigns that grow the International subscriber base through acquisition and retention of subscribers.



A successful candidate should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities across languages, working with external agencies and vendors, and collaborating across internal teams.



Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead the creation and execution overall marketing campaign calendar through management of marketing teams: brand, digital, lifecycle and grassroots


  • Direct and manage the marketing investment cycle, from business case creation to results reporting


  • Lead organizational understanding of Sling and DISH International’s marketing activities and performance through team/executive presentations


  • Oversee management of external resources, like creative agencies and freelancers, located both domestically and overseas


  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships to successfully promote the International business initiatives amongst the broader Sling and DISH organization


  • Work collaboratively with International programming team to assess new content opportunities


  • Build and grow relationships with key programming partners


  • Manage and mentor a team of diverse, multicultural and cross functional marketing resources



Skills, Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required; Master’s degree preferred


  • 8-10 years of work experience in a professional marketing or agency environment


  • Demonstrable expertise in integrated marketing, including digital, lifecycle, brand and grassroots/retail


  • Understanding of the media and content industry – both domestically and globally - is preferred


  • Experience managing a multi-cultural, diverse team is preferred


  • Experience in executive writing, reporting and presentations is preferred


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high capacity to multi-task and handle tight deadlines on a daily basis is a must


  • Ability to influence and collaborate across various functional groups including sales, marketing, finance, programming, analytics and legal


  • Ability to be personable and professional in an ever-changing, growth-oriented, and time-critical environment
