Primary Responsibilities


HDR is seeking a staff-level Geotechnical EIT to join our Cincinnati, OH office in our Transportation Business Group providing geotechnical design and field services related to HDR’s bridge and roadway projects, as well as for our energy and water resources business groups. The primary duties for this position include performing subsurface investigations and evaluations for developing geotechnical design recommendations, and assisting in the preparation of design plans, cost estimates, and specifications for construction. More-specific duties include developing subsurface exploration and laboratory testing programs; performing boring inspection activities when required; performing shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analyses, and subgrade evaluations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer; assisting in design and development of soil and rock cut slope designs; and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and other reporting documents for review by the Engineer of Record. As an EIT, the candidate will work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to gain the needed engineering experience to obtain their professional engineering license. Abilities at this level to assist with task/project management functions and preparation of technical and price estimates are a plus.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications


BSCE (or Geotechnical Engineering related program)


MSCE preferred, or ongoing coursework toward Degree


EIT/EI required


2+ years of geotechnical design experience is a plus, but not required


Experience with MS Office, gINT, LPILE, APILE, Slope/W, GRLWEAP, and other typical Geotechnical software preferred
