EastView at Middlebury delivers security, care and neighborly living comforts within a 99-home senior residential community complemented by a diverse array of social, well-being, and educational offerings. EastView seeks a talented professional whose passion includes generating and publicizing meaningful engagement programs to create a robust lineup of connection, fun and purpose – with lots of input from our residents, staff, and area friends. This work requires extensive collaboration with community partners to deliver special events and programs which enhance the well-being and enjoyment of residents, friends, and family members, build a sense of community, and support both marketing and resident/friend relations. Our Engagement & Communications Manager creates, promotes, and coordinates a wide variety of on- and off-campus events and programs ensuring an intellectually and culturally stimulating environment balanced with wellness opportunities and lots of fun.


  • Manage the administration, planning, development, implementation, and supervision of a comprehensive program delivery

  • Supervise small Residential Care Community Life team

  • Drive robust, innovative, engaging program strategy to enrich the lives of our residents involving both live and virtual offerings

  • Continuously gather resident and guest feedback to assess the effectiveness of programs and evolve offerings to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction

  • Host regular roundtables with community partners to advance collaboration, resource sharing, and a strong communication network

  • In collaboration with Human Resources, oversee college internship programs, as well as adult and student volunteers

  • Model wise and efficient use of financial resources to maximize diversely appealing offerings

  • Coordinate weekly programming and communication content creation, digital communication including e-newsletters, YouTube and other effective channels, as well as public relations and marketing outreach for EastView’s Vital Lifestyles programs both through its internal connector hub and external channels

  • Develop, deliver, and advance targeted social media presence promoting EastView engagement offerings

  • Support fundraising initiatives and endowment development

  • Collaborate with other management team members to ensure consistent branding and voice, and creates high-quality, compelling content across media venues

  • Assist the Sales and Marketing Director in collateral development for EastView’s residential and member offerings as well as EastView development campaigns

  • Actively solicit involvement of key stakeholders in the development of projects

  • Practice professionalism and accountability as it relates to all assigned duties

  • Utilize continuous improvement methods to explore new ideas and methods

  • Self-audit performance and seek mentoring and support as needed

  • Track and report outcomes in established performance reporting format

. Requirements:

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred), in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Recreation, English, Public Relations, or another relevant area of study

  • 3 + years of demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, and public relations

  • Progressively responsible experience with older individuals in such fields as senior residential care, senior wellness and programming, adult education, recreation, social work, rehabilitation, or a related field

  • 1+ year in a responsible administrative, supervisory, or consultative capacity

  • Proficiency using digital platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter; and familiarity with social media tracking and scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite and Sprout Social

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to produce timely and impactful content for publications and deliverables

  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter; process-driven with the ability to multi-task

  • Strategic and creative mindset coupled with community organizing and program delivery skills

  • Compassionate spirit, flexibility, and lively enthusiasm for working with older individuals

  • Effective, engaging, and succinct communication, both written and oral, with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public. High proficiency in using digital platforms

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher

  • Experience using WordPress, InDesign, MS Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop etc. a plus

  • Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving and documentation skills

  • High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct and coach others

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced resident-centered environment operating 24/7/365

  • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player

  • U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit
