OUR OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Director, Human Resources to join our growing team and serve as the HR leader for our Manufacturing & Operations organization at our plant in East Providence, RI. As an integrated business partner to the Manufacturing & Operations organization, this position is responsible for working directly with the business to understand the strategy and develop/deliver HR programs and initiatives in support of the business requirements as well as corporate initiatives. The HR Director continuously supports, improves and responds to current and future business priorities, goals and/or initiatives and identifies opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness and/or employee productivity and well-being.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:


Organizational Design and Development:



  • Partner with management team on strategic needs and growth initiatives as organization expands.

  • Guide and direct functional leaders and managers on organizational design, development and change management solutions required for successful outcome.


Talent Management:



  • Partner with leadership team and Talent Acquisition team to ensure a pro-active workforce plan and recruiting strategy is in place and well-executed, and will scale as we grow.

  • Champion talent management in the organization to ensure improved attraction, retention and development of staff which improves performance of the business and builds the bench strength of the management team.

  • Work with leaders and managers to analyze workforce capability/skills requirements relevant to changing business needs, actively participating in planning process to ensure alignment of goals.

  • Coach and develop the leadership team to work cohesively and effectively, building on their management capabilities and ensuring that they improve the performance and output of their own people resources.

  • Drive effective implementation of the performance management processes to accomplish strategic initiatives.

  • Provide executive coaching with a focus on strategic advice, counsel, and consultative solutions to various leaders on the people-management aspects of their business.

  • Partner with business leaders to collaboratively execute on the short and long-term vision for key talent initiatives that improve effectiveness, anticipate hiring and development needs, and help to achieve our overall business goals.


HR Operations and Management:



  • Drive and direct the implementation of HR programs across all lines of business including annual performance, salary and talent reviews.

  • Work directly and indirectly through HRBP team to coach and counsel managers on management and employee issues to achieve satisfactory resolution. Utilize performance management process and disciplinary action where appropriate.

  • Ensure equitable and consistent management of the company's compensation programs working with Compensation and senior management to ensure Aspen attracts and retains top talent.

  • Work systematically to diagnose problems, analyze data, identify root causes, and recommend solutions for HR related business issues. Develop creative and innovative solutions for improvement. Drive efficiencies.

  • Mange and develop team of HR professionals. Work with Corporate HR to assess needs as organization grows.

  • Develop reporting and provide data analysis that helps to solve complex business problems, with an emphasis on ADP Workforce Now as the system of record.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Develop strong partnership with the leaders and employees at all levels of the organization within this business.

  • Benefits – Coordinate with Corporate HR during the annual benefits and wellness planning process as well as administration of Company programs and escalation of matters as needed

  • Leaves of Absence and Workers Compensation – Work with Corporate HR and/or EHS in communicating absences, reporting claims, working with internal/external counsel and managing cases through return to work or other employment actions based on the specifics of each situation

  • Compliance/Employment Law - Maintain awareness of, and educate business on any pending local/state/federal legislation with the potential to impact the business; communicate and/or train business on laws/legislation that are required for compliance or general best practices

  • Company Policies and Practices – ensure adherence to, provide interpretation of, recommend modifications to and development of any policy or practice that impacts the business or employees


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in high growth environment preferred.

  • Global HR experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of personnel across all lines and at all levels of business.

  • Strong background in change management, organization design and development, and team effectiveness.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.

  • Certificates, licenses and registrations a plus: HRCI certifications, SHRM certifications.

  • Computer skills required: (Human Resource Systems, ADP Workforce Now preferred; Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
