As a Digital Graphic Designer, you will join a team of designers and copywriters who work collaboratively and independently to complete a wide range of cross-marketing and brand/campaign-related projects. You will present work to internal/external stakeholders and contribute to critical projects. You will be a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas and show acute attention to detail.


The right person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody Hornblower's RESPECT SYSTEM.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Day-to-day delivery exhibits your creative abilities and strategic design concepts for all marketing channels including, but not limited to, website content, digital advertising, print advertising, social media, sales collateral and other merchandising materials.

  • Work with teammates to maintain creative consistency across channels, ensuring all projects align with the new brand strategy and creative vision.

  • Be a champion for the brand and uphold brand standards in all design deliverables, always looking for opportunities to streamline and elevate.

  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, balancing great design with a sense of urgency.

  • Manage relationships with various vendors to include project quotes, submission of projects to vendors, approval of proofs, attend press checks and other vendor communications as necessary.

  • Proficient at managing own work and meeting deadlines.

  • Creation of event collateral for all HBG departments and events.

  • Design web banner, eblast, digital newsletter etc. using existing in-house modules.

  • Design pieces for print including brochures, magazines, mailers, signage, fundraising appeals, etc.

  • Experience with the online web development process, digital/video file format standards, social media platforms, browser compatibility, desktop and mobile, UX, wireframes and information architecture.

  • Produce visual solutions to communication problems by analyzing the condition and finding the most appropriate means of delivering a message.

  • Works cooperatively and positively with all staff members to promote an environment of excellence and teamwork.

  • Design unique brand identities for events/campaigns

  • Create environmental graphics for events/campaigns

  • Additional job duties as assigned


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, visual communications, advertising or related field.

  • 4+ years design experience within an in-house creative team, marketing or ad agency environment.

  • Strong aesthetic sense with advanced technical skills using Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Experience with the online web development process, digital/video file format standards, social media platforms, browser compatibility, desktop and mobile, UX, wireframes and information architecture. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.

  • A keen eye for typography and composition for imagery selection and cropping.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with building files for display advertising and print production – including pre-press and building files for final output.

  • Continually seek additional opportunities for professional development and actively follow and stay relevant with current design trends.

  • Possess organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
