We are looking for a Design Associate to join our Brand and Communications team within our Marketing division. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, this individual will be responsible for helping us move our brand forward with brand-consistent designs to support our campaigns. You’ll team up with our content team, copywriters, project managers, and marketing managers to translate concepts into great designs across multiple channels. We’re looking for an innovative and cutting-edge Visual Designer with strong conceptual chops. The right candidate is a well-rounded designer who is comfortable designing both on and offline marketing materials. In addition to this, the ideal candidate is highly motivated, exceptionally creative, capable of strong concepting, deadline driven while possessing the know how to manage feedback and expectations from team leaders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design layout, graphics and experience across all digital marketing channels; display advertising (mobile and desktop), social media, emails, and other outlets

  • Develop concepts and graphics across traditional channels including, print pieces, direct mail, infographics, event graphics and other collaterals and experiences

  • Develop a broad level of understanding of athenahealth’s core values and services, in order to propel the brand forward and become a true brand champion, ensuring all work created is expressing our brand in the best way possible, serving as a fervent brand ambassador both internally and externally

  • Support successful rollout and execution of company’s visual identity across all platforms and channels. Collaborate with copywriters, marketing specialists and web developers. Ability to talk concepts with copywriters and swatches with print producers. Support image sourcing, retouching & modification as needed

  • Support campaigns as needed including recreating, reformatting, and resizing advertisements and related campaign collateral

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Graphic Design role, with agency or in-house

  • Proven experience managing multiple deadlines while producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.

  • Ability to concept, present, and sell ideas and creative solutions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively as a member of a highly collaborative team of designers, project managers, producers, copywriters, and stakeholders

  • Can-do personality; flexible and willing to learn

  • A consummate team player who exhibits resiliency receiving feedback

  • Illustration capabilities preferred

  • Other interactive/motion graphic experience including Flash, After Effects, Video/Audio production, Prezi, HTML5 and/or web design experience including Sketch or Figma preferred
