We're looking for a Psychologist 4 to join our team to support staff to assist youth in their efforts to be self-sufficient, working toward the common goal of eliminating child and youth outcome disparities based on race and ethnicity. The Opportunity:

We need your clinical leadership skills at Green Hill School to provide oversight of mental health services, and consult regarding the Integrated Treatment Model in a Juvenile Rehabilitation secure facility for juvenile offenders. You will supervise mental health professionals in providing ethical and professional services to youth in crisis.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Educate youth and staff in principles and practices of JRA's Integrated Treatment Model (ITM).

  • Engage and motivate staff and residents to apply the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM).

  • Provide Clinical consultation to direct mental health services using cognitive behavioral treatment principles.

  • Perform behavioral and functional assessments.

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to screen and assess youth using agency approved tools.

  • Provide consultation for program planning.

  • Organize, develop, and present clinical training to Juvenile Justice and Rehabilitation Administration staff.

  • Coordinate interventions for youth with high-risk behaviors, affective disorder, or at risk youth who are prone to self-destructive behavior.

  • Engage and motivate staff and residents while applying ITM techniques.

  • Assist living unit staff in developing a therapeutic milieu, while maintaining safety and security.

  • Provide direct supervision to a Psychology Associate and Mental Health Coordinator.

  • Conduct evaluations, develop performance expectations, training and development plans for staff supervised.

  • Schedule and ensure completion of mandatory training by employees.

  • Ensure program compliance with all health, safety and custody standards and requirements.

Required Qualifications for the Psychologist 4:

  • A Doctoral Degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology, and a license to practice psychology in the State of Washington.

  • Demonstrated understanding of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principle experience providing cognitive/Behavioral therapeutic interventions.

  • Demonstrated competency in relation to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups. 

  • Strong understanding of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and experience in its application.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

Ability to function in a Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration secure care institution. The work is both indoors and outdoors in a moderate to high risk environment serving juvenile offenders with complex rehabilitation needs, including chemical dependency, cognitive impairment, mental health issues, and sexual offending histories who may exhibit physical and verbal aggressiveness.
