Affordable Heating & Air, LLC located in Sylacauga, AL. We are family owned and operated HVAC - Heating, AC and air quality company offering high-quality heating and cooling service in Shelby county, Sylacauga and surrounding communities since 2001. We provide installation, service, repair and maintenance to our residential and commercial customers.


We are currently looking for a Customer Service Specialist / Dispatcher to join our team, someone with a passion for serving customers, stellar communications skills, and proven ability to multi-task in high-volume environments. This position is the initial contact to our clients, customers, technicians and office staff, and plays a vital role through providing administrative support.


Job Title: Customer Service Specialist / Dispatcher


Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am 5:00pm with occasional weekends


Pay Rate: $12.00 - $14.00 HR/Depending on Experience + Benefits

Primary Job Function: Answer incoming calls. To provide effective and efficient scheduling and routing of HVAC work to the field technicians. Handle scheduling during business hours and some afterhours scheduling for incoming emergency and non-emergency phone calls. Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive customer experience while running an efficient operation. Providing best in class service at all times. Must be able to prioritize and performed daily tasks under minimum amount of supervision. Must be flexible for scheduled weekend phone coverage enabling us to maintain a 24/7 operation. Performs a variety of duties in receiving all complaints and service request, dispatch appropriately, coordinate and schedule Customer Assurance Program (CAP) services.


Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Pass background check & drug screen

  • 2 years related experience working in an office and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Stellar customer service skills

  • Excellent and interpersonal communication skills

  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and technicians

  • A clear and professional speaking voice as phones are a huge part of the position

  • The ability to type 40 + WPM with accuracy

  • Data entry, filing, and other general office duties

  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • Ability to make decisions with limited information

  • General sales skills and aptitude

  • Must be punctual daily


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience in HVAC or similar industry

  • Dispatching experience
