Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated
Control Panel Builder to join our team. This exciting opportunity is responsible for the physical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow basic mechanical and electrical blue prints and manufacturing drawings
Read and identify colors on all wires; install wire labels and device tags, and recognize different wires for soldering
Use of standard and metric measuring system on a regular basis
Use basic hand tools, cutters, wire strippers, soldering iron and heat gun
Use of power tools for the FAB shop
Use of superior dexterity, mechanical skills, and eye-hand coordination
Utilize thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical schematics in daily tasks and projects
Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (ex. state laws, federal laws, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Kaman Automation policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years of experience in the same or similar role
Industry experience in electro-mechanical wire and components
Skills and Abilities Essential to the Position:
Basic knowledge of common shop standards
Basic understanding of ISO documents
Understanding of budgeted hours with interest in learning how to improve and meet time posted
Ability to lower defects and keep them to a minimum
Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic electrical or controls
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions
Physical/ Environmental Demands:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Hold and work with tools/power tools, crimping tools during most of the work day
Use of hands and arms to touch, lift, reach, etc.
Lifting and/or exerting up to 30 lbs. of weight/force constantly; lifting and/or exerting up to 50 lbs. of weight/force occasionally
