The Contact Tracing and Vaccine Hesitancy Coordinator reports to a MUSC Leader. Under limited supervision, the Contact Tracing and Vaccine Hesitancy Coordinator performs specialized and routine operational and administrative functions to support the MUSC Health Contact Tracing Program to maintain an efficient and effective operation. The Coordinator also performs duties and actions to support the removal of vaccine hesitancy throughout the state. This includes working with Jvion and BMIC to understand and analyze hesitancy data, and coordinate volunteers to make phone calls to high risk patients throughout the state, to address concerns, and facilitate local vaccination.

Position Purpose: The Contact Tracing and Vaccine Hesitancy Coordinator reports to a MUSC Leader. Under limited supervision, the Contact Tracing and Vaccine Hesitancy Coordinator performs specialized and routine operational and administrative functions to support the MUSC Health Contact Tracing Program to maintain an efficient and effective operation. The Coordinator also performs duties and actions to support the removal of vaccine hesitancy throughout the state. This includes working with Jvion and BMIC to understand and analyze hesitancy data, and coordinate volunteers to make phone calls to high risk patients throughout the state, to address concerns, and facilitate local vaccination.


Minimum Training and Education:



  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of five years of administrative experience at the executive/leader level required. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must have expertise in MS Outlook. Organizational, time management, problem solving skills required.

  • Ability to compose correspondence and proof assignments to ensure accuracy of documents; excellent interpersonal skills to assist distressed individuals from different cultural backgrounds, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required; highly detail oriented; ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making. Must be able to see the overall picture of the department/role and anticipate needs/think ahead when completing work. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy; professional maturity; high degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality; ability to work with individuals in a tactful diplomatic manner that enhances the image of the office.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Produces and appropriately distributes correspondence, such as forms, reports, and letters

  • Prioritizes and coordinates meetings by preparing agendas and presentations materials, as well as logistics and appropriate follow-up

  • Creates and prepares PowerPoint templates, presentations and reports

  • Create correspondence templates

  • Respond to emails and correspondence

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinating vaccine hesitancy efforts with MUSC Health Leaders

  • Coordinating contact tracing efforts with MUSC Health Leaders and Case Investigators from the Local Health Department

  • Conduct vaccine hesitancy interviews in a professional manner that reflects emotional and cultural awareness.

  • Conduct tracing interviews in a professional manner that reflects emotional and cultural awareness.

  • Collecting and recording accurate information using RedCap and the Case Report Form (CRF)

  • Collaborating with designated local leaders within and outside MUSC Health to improve vaccine uptake at MUSC Health and other sites, including the use of MUSC Health marketing materials

  • Complying to all Health Department regulations, including those aimed at protecting personal information.

  • Proficiency in survey administration, distributions, and data dissemination.
