Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.


This individual contributor position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Firm's FCM Compliance program.


The Compliance Senior Officer will ensure that the FCM's activities and policies and procedures adhere to applicable regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, the rules and regulations of the CFTC, CME, and NFA, as well as the applicable rules and regulations of various exchanges and clearinghouses. The Firm's FCM activities are subject to significant regulatory oversight, including daily reporting of customer funds held by the Firm, annual examinations by the Firm's Designated Self-Regulatory Organization, and periodic regulatory inquiries (generally multiple such events per month). This position will be the lead Compliance Officer for managing the CIB Compliance FCM program and will review and coordinate such activity. Further, this position will be responsible for making policy determinations based on changing regulatory requirements or changing business practices. This position will be expected to meet regularly with FCM senior management and to provide updates to the CCO of the FCM. Finally, this position will be expected to partake in industry forums in an effort to ensure awareness of industry practices.


Required Qualifications



  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management


Desired Qualifications



  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and operate collaboratively, execution focused, and results oriented

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas


Other Desired Qualifications



  • 7+ years of experience in FCM regulation, either in the compliance department of a regulated entity or with a regulatory authority (such as a government regulator or exchange/DSRO)

  • Ability to collaborate with others, initiate action, challenge others, make difficult decisions, generate creative solutions, and achieve results. the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management required

  • Must be organized and have the ability to engage in several projects at one time
