Position Overview:


The Chief Information Security Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected


Responsibilities:



  • Establish a roadmap and vision that is aligned with Ripcord's business plan. Use available resources and planned growth to prioritize objectives and hold accountability to align with Ripcord's roadmap and expansion

  • Work directly with business leadership and teams to facilitate risk assessment and risk management processes

  • Establish and design a Security and Compliance team architecture that aligns with Ripcord's goals both near and long term. Manage the enterprise's information security organization, consisting of direct and indirect reports. This includes hiring, training, and performance management

  • Help design, implement, and lead a team focused on company security and operational objectives both internal and external

  • Establish and maintain communication across Ripcord's teams and executive leadership. Open up communication and brief leadership on Security and Compliance roadmap, risks, and general strategy

  • Develop a roadmap and timeline, and execute on critical company objectives such as HITRUST, GDPR, CCPA, SOC II, etc.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive information security and IT risk management program and framework

  • Approve and ensure that Ripcord's security policies, controls and responses are prepared and achieved

  • Achieve and monitor that Ripcord's business continuity, disaster recovery and security responses are in place and tested

  • Manage teams, contractors, and suppliers that are involved in Ripcord's security posture and strategy

  • Be responsible for Security and Compliance budget

  • Lead the company through internal and external audits and reviews related to security and be involved and contribute to cross functional teams in situations that relate to security, compliance, and IT

  • Work with Ripcord Customer Delivery, Sales & Marketing on customer communication on Ripcord's Security & Compliance postures and participate in customer calls

  • Develop companywide security programs and establish reports and control incidents

  • Ability to evaluate, validate, and procure 3rd party software and work with partners, suppliers, and contractors


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a technology related field

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management, information security and IT related fields

  • Knowledge and experience of common information security management and privacy frameworks

  • ISO

  • SOC

  • NIST

  • GDPR

  • CCPA


  • HIPAA, etc.



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate to internal leadership as well as valued customers and partners

  • Prioritization skills with ability to critical think and problem solve

  • Experience with both on prem and Cloud (AWS) deployments and protocols

  • Strong project management, budgetary, and resource management skills

  • Professional security management certifications such as:

  • CISSP

  • CISM

  • CISA

  • CCISO
