The Care Team Assistant works in collaboration with other care team members to assure safe and optimal patient care. Supports the unit with a variety of clerical, patient logistic, equipment/supply, charge reconciliation, and patient service duties. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and maintains a safe, organized environment.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to gain additional experience working in an Operating Room setting and being a supportive role to ultimately provide exceptional patient care. In this position you role will be to assist in the Operating Room, ensuring that rooms are cleaned and turned over in between cases. You will also assist with positioning and transporting patients, running specimens and labs for nurses, and work with equipment techs to assist with reporting any equipment issues that need to be escalated and resolved.

This is a full time position working 8 hour shifts with most shifts being from 8am – 4:30pm, including call requirements that will be discussed at the time of interview. Located at Scripps Green Hospital.

Required Certification/Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Multiple patient care skills preferred

  • Prefer one-year experience in health care related field, sterile processing, patient transport or equivalent responsibilities.

  • Experience working in a Operating Room setting is preferred, but not required.
