Job Summary



Plan, prep set up and provide quality service in Banquet food production for menu items and special in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. Direct, train and monitor performance of Banquet Cooks. Take ownership of events, delegate appropriately and ensure proper follow through from preparation, delivery, etc. of all events. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Ensure all Associates attend daily line-ups and that standards and procedures are followed at all times.




General Scope of Daily Duties/Responsibilities:




  • Effective listening, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns of guests; respond to guest complaints in a timely manner

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times

  • Assist in creating menus for prospective clients

  • Show initiative in job performance; anticipate needs and problems; identify and solve problems

  • Monitor quality of food product presentation; assess food portion size, visual appeal, taste and temperature of items served

  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the kitchen and food production areas

  • Work with Executive and Sous Chefs to create and implement menus

  • Coordinating, supervising and directing the Catering/Banquets cooks and utility staff; assist Catering Director with special menus and price structures

  • Assist in computing daily food costs; understand daily forecasts and customer counts; coordinate all par stock levels; check food purchase for proper ordering, quality and price structure

  • Attend all required meetings

  • Strong leadership, mentoring and quality control of team members

  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance

  • Know and enforce all local health department sanitation laws



Our Perfect Candidate:



  • 2 year culinary degree


  • At least 3 years in related field

  • Previous Supervisory position preferred.

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Must be able to tolerate hot/cold temperatures

  • Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with little sitting and walking


  • Must be able to communicate with all kitchen staff
