Summary


We have an opening for a full-time position at the Eastman Early Learning Center. This is a great opportunity to work closely with a fun, experienced staff to make a real difference for children. The right individual will be enthusiastic, caring, and possess a minimum of a high school diploma and early childhood education experience and/or 9 or more ECE credits. The right candidate will be willing to work with children in early childhood education and our after-school program when needed.



Urgently hiring, hourly rate between $13.00 and $15.00. We are temporarily offering a sign-on bonus of $500.00

Duties

Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of early childhood outcomes:


  • Helps Lead teachers to organize and maintain a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive learning environment; ensuring a healthy, safe, clean environment both inside and out of the facility.


  • Observes and monitors student activity at all times.


  • May provide nurturing routines such as diapering, dressing, and feeding.


  • Supervises sleeping children.


  • Helps Lead Teachers to create a dynamic, fun, creative, and interactive classroom experience.


  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.




Program Development and Implementation



  • Establishes and maintains program goals and settings to ensure the health and safety of all members.


  • Ensures the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis, including tracking outcome metrics; verifies that programs/activities respond to member needs and addresses their gender and cultural diversity.


  • Controls program and activity expenditures within the approved budget.




Supervision



  • Oversees proper record keeping and weekly reporting, including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.


  • Increases visibility of Club programs via posting of the daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events through different social media channels, parent emails, etc.




Requirements



An associate teacher in a center-based program shall be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma, and meet one of the following options:

(1) A minimum of 9 credits in child development, early childhood, or elementary education, or another field of study focused on children, including at least one 3 credit course in child growth and development, from a regionally accredited college;

(2) A minimum of 1500 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program or public or private elementary school, with a written recommendation from the center director or school administrator, documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, early childhood, or elementary education, or another field of study focused on children awarded by a regionally accredited college or university, and the following:
  • A written plan for completion of at least 6 additional credits in child development, early childhood or elementary education, or another field of study focused on children from a regionally accredited college or university; and

(3) A minimum of 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program and documentation of successful completion of a 2-year vocational child care course;

(4) Current certification as para II educator by the department of education
