Position Purpose

This is a 50/50 split position that supports the following two objectives:

1) The administrative needs of the East Wheelock House Leadership Team via planning, promotion, management and assessment of house events and activities. &

2) The data management and reporting needs of the entire Residential House Community via the collection, tabulating, querying, and reporting to the House Leadership team and critical stakeholders.



This is a full-time 12-month, 37.5 hour/week position.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience


Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and departmental integrity, creativity, collaboration, initiative, multicultural education, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, event management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Explorer & Outlook), Google tools (Calendars, Doodle, & Docs), and the most current and relevant social media platforms.
  • Experience managing large sets of data and creating accurate and informative reports.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive and productive relationships with all campus constituencies, including institutional leaders, faculty, staff, students, and parents and families.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence; proven effectiveness in serving the needs of a diverse undergraduate student population.
  • Ability to balance competing demands under pressure.
  • Ability to attend night and weekend events on occasion, and to adapt personal and professional schedule to the College’s year-round calendar.

East Wheelock House


  • In consultation with the East Wheelock Leadership team, plans and develops programs to advance the East Wheelock Program mission.
  • With minimal supervision, coordinates event schedules and logistical details, including scheduling, event promotion and publicity, invitations, catering, and other aspects of event management as assigned. This includes keeping updated email lists of East Wheelock students and others who are interested in hearing about events.
  • Presides in the East Wheelock Office to answer questions and create a welcoming atmosphere in the central office.

  • Contributes to continuous program and event assessment by preparing student surveys and, in coordination with the Director, collecting and maintaining records of student attendance at all programs related to East Wheelock.
  • Serves as liaison to other campus centers, programs and departments (e.g. Hopkins Center, Montgomery Endowment) to coordinate event scheduling and activities.
  • Maintains East Wheelock program website, Google program calendar and social media sites or other online marketing tools for East Wheelock residents, and for publicity and outreach purposes.

  • Drafts and edits related correspondence and reports for the Faculty Associate and the rest of the East Wheelock Program Leadership Team.
  • Researches and prepares presentation information on East Wheelock Program guests and activities.
  • Represents the East Wheelock Program effectively to East Wheelock residents, other students, alumni, faculty, administrators, community members, and prospective students.

Residential House Community

  • In consultation with the House Community leadership records, manages, and reports on all data relevant to the House Community, its members, and activities.
  • Maintains House Community lists of members, faculty, and other campus connections.
  • Researches and prepares presentation information on the House Community Programs, guests, and activities.
  • Contributes to continuous program and event assessment by gathering and tabulating house member feedback.
  • In consultation with the House Community Leadership team, supports planning and development of program activities that span the entire House Community.
  • Maintains the House Community website, program calendar and social media sites
  • Support the Inter-House Council by keeping records of periodic meetings.
