Facebook is seeking an experienced professional to enable the growth of Facebook's commerce and payments. The successful candidate will be responsible for not only ensuring the accuracy and completeness of payments-related financial accounting, reporting and multi-state compliance requirements; but also, for scaling the process through machine learning and automation. As a result of these scaling efforts, this role is going to be instrumental in designing and implementing additional accounting operations to enable several new lines of business to advance our commerce and payment strategy by collaborating with cross-functional teams including FB family of apps product teams. The individual must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility. This role is expected to problem solve, lead automation projects, recommend solutions, and exercise good business judgment while performing their functions. The candidate is expected to have a strong business acumen coupled with an accounting background and strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization.
Accounting Manager, Payments Responsibilities
- Manage period end close procedures such as assisting in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, reporting packages, and financial performance insights
Define and implement scalable financial processes related to month-end and quarter-end close and reporting
Ensure continuous development of accounting policies and standard operating procedures
Proactively help in redesign and implementation of the company's payments systems and accounting operation processes, with a focus on machine learning and automation
Strong knowledge of NMLS requirements and support periodic audits from internal & external parties and regulatory bodies, as required
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams, have a strong business acumen coupled with an accounting background and strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
6+ years of experience working in accounting
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience with accounting and reporting automation project
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting and Financial technology experience
ERP experience
Experience working in the Payments Industry
