Defibtech is seeking an Accountant, based out of our Guilford, CT headquarters responsible for supporting accounting activities, reporting and transactions in accordance with company policies, processes, and standards.



Core Responsibilities:






  • Booking monthly recurring journal entries.


  • Calculating and recording accruals


  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations.


  • Preparing Daily Cash spreadsheet.


  • Assisting with general ledger maintenance and ensuring proper posting of all transactions.


  • Assisting and supporting all audit activities within the department including fiscal year-end audit.


  • Reconciling accounts.


  • Supports an accurate and timely month-end financial close.


  • Completing credit applications.


  • Managing and processing all Census requests.


  • Demonstrating Defibtech’s values on the job by focusing actions on Integrity, Passion, Ownership, and Innovation. Promoting and participating in continuous improvement.


  • Actively supporting compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FDA, Quality Systems Regulations, safety regulations and applicable statutes).





Qualifications:






  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field of study with at least 3 years of relevant work experience OR the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.


  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook.


  • Previous experience with an ERP G/L system, highly desired.




  • Must have knowledge and understanding of financial statements.


  • Ability to investigate problems and make corrections, and address inconsistencies in entries, documents, and reports.



  • Proactive and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.




Work Environment and Physical Demands:






  • Work environment is primarily an office setting.


  • Sedentary work with frequent sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing and short durations of walking throughout location(s) and lifting up to 10lbs.
