AV Tech and Film/ Events Coordinator Job Description

Educate students on the purpose, function, and career applications for using

technology for broadcasting , live-streaming, film-production and social media


Broadcast journalism is a constantly expanding and evolving STEM educational


Applicants should have a passion for their own learning and discovery, as well

as a willingness to modify and adjust the classroom to meet the needs of new

educational opportunities. This philosophy should go hand in hand with the positive

promotion of the Beebe School District and its students.

Curriculum for this program is available, however applicants are encouraged to use

these resources as a guideline to aid their own vision for the program.

Essential Functions

Instruct students in fundamentals and techniques of basic film and video

production techniques and equipment.

Instruct students in procedures for using digital cameras, filters, lights,

microphones, audio equipment, editing systems and other motion picture


Research and discovery of new information.

Project-based learning

Classroom management

Events coordinator

o Create and organize student activities during athletic events (games,

pep-assemblies, Homecoming, graduation, prom,etc.)

Live-streaming producer/director

Athletic webpage webmaster ( Badgerball.org)

Manage social media and promotion for activities and athletics

Evolve education to the demands of the AV tech and social media career field

Examples of Classroom Objectives

Students will demonstrate knowledge of career opportunities in the film

production field.

Examples of Classroom Objectives

Students will know safety protocols and will make appropriate judgements

when working with equipment.

Students will practice appropriate professional skills, including the use of

appropriate chain of command.

Students will effectively use Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite to tell a


Students will understand and abide by laws in regards to intellectual

property and copyright standards.

Students will create and maintain a portfolio and resume or CV, and will

understand interview etiquette.

Students will proficiently create and utilize storyboards and shot lists in

order to plan a film project.

Students will utilize pre-production forms to follow applicable laws of film


Students will demonstrate a proficient understanding of film production,

editing techniques, and lighting concepts.

Students will demonstrate proficiency in the concepts involving art direction.

Students will engage the school and community at large

Students will demonstrate proficiency regarding sound design, visual effects,

and the use of Color correction.

Students will demonstrate proficiency in creating a Press kit and film


Students will demonstrate proficiency in understanding the film festival

submissions process.

Follow chain of command and report to building principal and athletic



Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Correlated to teaching assignment

Field of Study: Correlated to teaching assignment If teaching Advanced Placement class, teacher must meet academic qualifications set by the associated college or university.

Experience: No prior experience necessary

Computer Skills:
Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.

Certifications & Licenses:
Must have current Arkansas teaching license for the grade level or assigned subject. Must be able to document highly-qualified status under federal law (where required).
